A warm welcome to Abode
A few details before we begin
If your insurer has authorised therapy with us, you’re in the right place. This form gathers the details we need to set you up properly — including the authorisation your insurer has provided — so that billing is handled quietly in the background, and you can simply focus on your sessions.
It takes around ten minutes. There’s no rush, and nothing here is shared beyond the people who need it to arrange your care.
Insurance client registration
After completing this form, we’ll get you set up on our system and email you guidance about how to book your sessions. Fields marked * are required.
Held with care
Your information stays private
Sharing personal, medical and insurance details asks for trust, and we hold that seriously. Everything you enter here is treated with the same confidentiality as your sessions themselves.
Read our full client confidentiality & consent policy, or ask us anything before you begin.
- Stored securely and seen only by the team arranging your care and billing.
- Used to register you, liaise with your insurer, and support safe, joined-up care — nothing more.
- Never sold, and never shared for marketing without your explicit consent.
- Handled in line with UK data protection law and our published privacy policy.
How insurance billing works
From your insurer’s approval to your first session — four gentle steps.
Approval from your insurer
Before you register, your insurer confirms your cover and provides an authorisation code and the number of sessions they’ll fund.
Complete this registration
Share your details and your insurer’s authorisation above. This is the only paperwork we’ll ask of you.
We set you up
We’ll register you on our system and email clear guidance on choosing a psychologist and booking your first session.
We bill your insurer directly
Your sessions are invoiced straight to your insurer, so there’s nothing for you to pay upfront or claim back.
Can’t see your insurer?
We work with most major insurers
We routinely direct-bill the major UK and international providers, so for most clients there’s nothing to pay at the point of your session.
If your provider isn’t shown here, please don’t worry — we may still be able to register with them on your behalf, and we’re always happy to talk through self-paying if that’s simpler for you.
Let’s sort it together
Tell us who you’re insured with and we’ll let you know the next step — usually within one working day.

Let us help you find your therapist
Once you’re registered, our complimentary matching service can gently suggest the psychologist and approach best suited to you — or you’re always welcome to choose for yourself.
Questions, gently answered
A few things insurance clients often wonder before registering.
Where do I find my authorisation code and session count?
Both come from your insurer once they’ve approved your therapy — usually by email, letter or through their member app or helpline. The authorisation code confirms they’ve agreed to fund your sessions, and the session count is the number of sessions they’ll cover. If you can’t locate either, do get in touch and we’ll help.
Will I have anything to pay?
For most insured clients, no. We bill your insurer directly for the sessions they’ve authorised, so there’s nothing to pay upfront or claim back. If your policy carries an excess or co-payment, your insurer will let you know, and we’ll always be transparent about anything outside your cover.
What happens after I submit this form?
We’ll set you up on our system and email you within one working day with clear guidance on choosing a psychologist and booking your first session. There’s nothing else you need to do in the meantime.
What if my authorised sessions run out?
As you near the end of your funded sessions, we’ll gently flag it so there are no surprises. If you’d like to continue, your insurer can often authorise more, or you’re welcome to carry on as a self-paying client — whichever feels right for you.
My insurer isn’t one you’ve listed — can I still register?
Very possibly. We work with most major UK and international insurers, and can often register with a new provider on your behalf. Email welcome@abodetherapy.co.uk with your insurer’s name and we’ll let you know the next step.
Why do you ask for my GP and an emergency contact?
This is standard, careful practice across psychological services. It allows us to support safe, joined-up care and to reach someone should there ever be a concern for your wellbeing. We’ll only ever contact your GP with your knowledge, in line with our confidentiality policy.
