Waitlist

A quiet place on the list, until they’re free

Some of our psychologists are briefly closed to new clients. If you’ve found someone whose work feels right, we’d love to hold a place on their list for you — and let you know personally the moment a slot opens.

Hold a place for me

A few details and you’re on the list — we’ll write the moment a slot opens.

If you need support sooner. Abode offers planned, non-urgent online therapy, so a waitlist isn’t the right route if you’re in crisis. If you’re at immediate risk right now, please reach out today — in the UK, call Samaritans on 116 123 (24/7), NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency.

While you wait

If you’d rather not wait, these gentler routes are open today.

Questions, gently answered

A few things people often wonder before joining a waitlist.

How long is the wait, usually?

It varies by psychologist and time of year — typically a few weeks, occasionally longer. We don’t queue people in strict order; we match by fit, availability and how recently you’ve reached out. If you’d rather not wait, the matching service can suggest someone with space today.

Will you keep emailing me?

No. We only write when a slot opens with a psychologist you’ve chosen. No automated reminders, no chasing. You can come off the list at any time by replying to that email or contacting us.

Am I committed to anything by joining?

Not at all. Joining the list places no obligation on you. When we get in touch, you can accept the slot, ask for the next one, or step off the list entirely — whichever feels right.

Can I be on more than one waitlist?

Yes — tick as many psychologists as feel right. You’ll be the first to hear whoever has space next. The moment you take a slot with one, we’ll quietly remove you from any others.

How long do you hold my details?

Six months, or until you ask us to remove them. If we haven’t been able to offer you a slot in that time, we’ll write to ask whether you’d like to stay on the list a little longer. Your details are handled in line with our privacy policy and seen only by our Clinical Directors.
